The acting in this was superb.
Which incidentally seems like a lifetime from now.
This has been a really crazy week. Monday I found out we were scheduling an immediate training for all our managers, as the meeting and events coordinator, clearly this involves me. Well guess WHEN??????
F'N JULY 20TH and 21ST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, that's right, I would be slammed w/ work the night of and the day after the release of Deathly Hallows. So much so I would be too tired to read until Sunday.
Somehow a miracle happened yesterday and the training has been postponed until the first of August. I can't even begin to express how relieved I am.
Are you a book lover? A TV freak? A movie aficionado? Put your mind to the test, and list some of your favorite fictional characters - one for each letter of the alphabet.
I am taking the challenge laid out and going to answer only in SNL references:
A: Amber who's "rocking one leg" and also farted
B: Bruce Dickinson - he needs more cowebell!
C: Collette Reardon (also Canteen Boy - just b/c he rules)
D: Delicious Dish hosted by Molly Shannon and Ana Gastyner - I LOVED the epi where they got drunk on the non alcholic egg nog, LOL
E: Ed Grimley who is so passionate in his love of Pat Sayjack
F: The Falconer and his sidekick Donald the falcon
G: Gap Girls!!!! One of my fav Sandler, Farley and Spade skits ever!
H: Hardball w/ Chris Matthews. H also stands for Hammond, Chris - who does this sketch.
I: I'm Chillin - a sketch I forgot I loved but saw tonight on the NBC special. They had the BEST sponsors.
J: Justin Timberlake - one of the funniest hosts ever. Dick in a Box, the Target employee w/ the lip issues, his Punk'd sketch. List goes on and on.
K: Katlin by Amy Poehler and Kyle DeMarco by Chris Katan have to tie on this one. I love the both.
L: Lorne Michaels - I have a tiny crush on him, LOL
M: Mango - b/c everyone love-a the mango
N: Nadine - the Cheri O'Teri character who tells everyone to "simma down nah"
O: Opera Man
P: Professors - Rachel Dratch and Will Ferrell as the two TMI "lovvah's" who love to eat spiced meats during lovemaking.
Q: Queen - Fine, they have nothing to do w/ SNL but there HAS to be at least one reference to Queen the band or Queen Elizabeth during the 30+ year run. I just can't think of a darn thing for Q.
R: Robyn Byrd Show - the porn star w/ the talk show. What a hot mess she was.
S: Sully - who loves both making out w/ Zazu and NOMAR!!!
T: Tiger Beat's Ultra Super Duper Dreamy CEO Special - this was the episode where Sarah Michelle Gellar hosted and they all swooned over the "hot" CEO's in the mag.
U: Uri - that recurring character of Tom Hanks who was the host of the Sabra Price Is Right.
V: Velvet Jones - one of the great Eddie Murphy SNL characters
W: Will Ferrel - enough said!
X: X-President's cartoon sketch
Y: Yortuk (brother of Jorge). Together w/ his brother they are two "WILD AND CRAZY GUYS" who wear tight pants to show their bulges
Z: Zazu (girlfriend of Sully who prefers this name to Denise)
That was so hard. I left SO much out.
I should get back to packing for our office move this weekend. Hence my avatar about putting stuff in a box.
God I love Top Chef.
My only point of contention - do I want Ilian or Betty to be sent home more.
(Mind you I don't particularly like Marcel or want him to win.....I just don't want him to lose to either of those two after their dishes AND attitudes this episode. Let's see what happens..................)
It's on HBO right now and as I was channel surfing I stopped on it. To set the scene, movieHarry and movieNeville are down by the lake and movieRon, movieHermione and movieGinny come up on them so movieHermione can deliver a message to movieHarry for movieRon.
It's the "I'M NOT AN OWL!" scene.
I really don't get why movieHermione gets so frusterated w/ movieHarry for his telling her to tell movieRon something. I mean considering movieRon is the one who is mad at movieHarry for such a stupid reason and all. Honestly it was quite rude.
Teenage fights are hilarious. Such drama.
Oh, and the height difference between Cedric and Harry is cracking me up. Standing next to Cedirc, Harry looks about 4 feet tall.
I worry about the safety of Harry's wand in the dragon chase across Hogwarts. I keep thinking it could fall out of it's case or something.
Rita Skeeter has me thinking about Lockhart, I really hope Lockhart is in the OotP movie.
I remember the first time he hosted and did the spoof on Punk'd "I'm Aston Kutcher, I AWESOME!" and have looked forward to him hosting ever since.
In other news, the contestants in this season of Top Chef are so hard to like.
Jacobs Creek sparkling wine.
I love champagne, but I also love an affordable wine. Champagne, decent champagne (or sparkling wine) generally is $30+ and while that is not crazy expensive, it does add up quickly.
Well this brilliant Jacobs Creek sparkling wine is $11.99 at my local grocery - a really reasonable price. So reasonable I can rationalize buying it a couple of times a week. It has tiny bubbles, it's yeasty and dry and just good. In a blind taste test one would put in in the base class of a Moet, Roedrer, Tattinger or Veuve Clicot.
Bless you Australia, bless you and your tasty Jacobs Creek wine.
I am beyond excited!!
I knew we could do it but never dreamed it would actually happen.
Bless you Steven McGee!

| "If this video is any indication I am going to LOVE the OOTP movie!" on Google Video | ![]() |
| I love this preview so much I don't even care about Dan's short hair anymore. From HPANA.com |

2. Christmas lights (even when they are put up a week too soon)
3. The tiny clip of the OOTP teaser trailer that has been released - yeah sure they are taking some license w/ OOTP but from the bit of the trailer that is out it looks pretty damn good.
4. The new James Bond movie - I was on the fence about the new Bond but no more. I love him.
5. JD Robb's Born in Death.
That's all for now.
Good times.

I am really pretty laid back in terms of HP movie stuff and have yet to be disappointed by one of the films, but this hair thing is really bugging me. I can deal w/ Hermione's more tame wavy hair rather then the bushy hair from the books but Harry having this nice tidy hair w/o a single lock out of place is driving me nuts.
I have listened to and loved the US version.
Well.
Oh my god.
The UK version really IS better. Stephen Frye does a fantastic Hermione (where as the US version is rather lacking in the Hermione department - it's not bad, it's just not as good as it COULD be). I could not be more thrilled. Of course this means I now have to hunt up the PoA, GoF, OotP and HBP all at a very reasonable price and ebay my US versions as I get the UK replacements.....but I do love to have a project to focus on.
I would rather have mp3's or CD's instead of cassette's. Is there a way to record cassette's onto a computer? This may turn out to be a little more technical then my skills allow.
